Description
FLOOR-TITE SEALER is a non-degrading solvent based, acrylic clear sealer and its low viscosity ensures rapid penetration into porous substrates.
Typical Uses and Applications
- Impregnation, sealing and hardening of concrete, masonry, brickwork and block paving.
- Provides a protective coating to seal from water penetration and weathering, and to enhance the natural colour of these surfaces.
- On block paving it will act as a sand stabiliser.

Methods of Use - Surface Preparation
New Concrete
FLOOR-TITE SEALER may be sprayed onto newly laid concrete as soon as the surface water has disappeared or immediately after finishing.
Existing Concrete
Existing concrete substrates should be clean, sound and free of laitance, oil, paint film or other contamination. Captive grit blasting or grinding are the preferred methods of preparation although high temperature application of a neutral detergent may be beneficial with oil/grease contamination.
Sweep or vacuum all dust and debris from the surface. A dry surface is preferred, but damp surfaces are acceptable provided there is no free water present.

Block Paving
Brush area to remove as much loose sand and debris as possible. To ensure maximum absorption, paviours should be dry, although FLOOR-TITE SEALER can be applied to damp surfaces. Efflorescence and/or other stains on the surface must be cleaned off prior to application of this sealer.
Note
Block paviours with a high lime content can produce unsightly white surface deposits that may reduce with weathering. It is advisable to test FLOOR-TITE SEALER on a small inconspicuous area prior to coating the entire surface.
Methods of Use - Application
New Concrete
After finishing the concrete, FLOOR-TITE SEALER should be sprayed evenly from a conventional low pressure sprayer to concrete free from surface water. In severe drying conditions the concrete should additionally be covered with polythene sheets, shade and windbreaks. In hot weather store FLOOR-TITE SEALER containers in a cool place prior to use.
Existing Concrete
FLOOR-TITE SEALER may be applied to the prepared surface using a brush, roller or low pressure spray. A single coat application will give a matt finish with minimal change in appearance. Subsequent coat(s) will give an increasing gloss finish to the surface. Optimum abrasion resistance and surface sealing will require at least two coats.
Block Paviours
Application is normally carried out by roller, allowing the substrate and bedding sand to absorb as much liquid as possible, without leaving puddles. A second coat may be applied after the first has dried. Care should be taken to avoid over application particularly on steep surfaces, as this may constitute a slip hazard when wet.
Note
FLOOR-TITE SEALER should not be applied in conditions where there is frost in the ground or when freezing conditions are expected. The presence of efflorescence or laitance on the surface can lead to a patchy uneven appearance. In some situations the application of FLOOR-TITE SEALER can result in salts being drawn to the surface. Penetration can be improved on impervious substrates by thinning with WHITE SPIRIT. In this case a second coat is usually required. 6-8 hours should be allowed between coats.
Artificial Stone
Variations in porosity and method of manufacture will affect the penetration of FLOOR-TITE SEALER. This can result in a patchy appearance once the product has dried. It is therefore advisable to test FLOOR-TITE SEALER on a small area of surface before application to a larger areas. Manufacturer's recommendations should be followed when using sealers.
Mixing
FLOOR-TITE SEALER is supplied ready for use.
Cleaning
All equipment should be cleaned immediately after use with WHITE SPIRIT.
Storage and Handling
FLOOR-TITE SEALER is a flammable material with a flash point of 42°C. It must be stored in a cool, dry place with good ventilation, protected from extremes of temperature. Do not smoke or expose a naked flame to the storage area. Store in closed containers.
